So toddler and I are back at home. We’ve been back for a week now and have gotten over our jetlag. Finally.

Just wanted to give you a guys a quick update on all my travel successes with my preparations. There weren’t really any to speak of LOL.

The bag with the goodies worked, but it probably would have been just as fine without. On the way overseas, toddler had the most fun with the screen in the seat back in front of her. I could have saved myself the $6.25 in new Dollar Tree toys. The car seat thing was genius though! On the way there, she slept for 1.5 hours and on the way back, a solid 2.75 hours! Having had to leave my home town at 6am to make a 10:45am flight, I very much appreciated that. Thanks, baby girl!

As for all the luggage I carried around; the more you can skip carrying onboard with you, the better! I had 2 carry-ons and 2 personal items, plus a stroller and car seat (and I smuggled a tiny diaper bag in form of a toddler backpack harness on board, but shhhht!), and I was really missing the Delta-flight I had booked the year before, with two free checked luggage pieces. On the other hand, flying direct from the U.S. to Europe with a toddler is amazing, even if you have to pay $75 per way, per checked baggage! What can I say? I want direct flights for $400RT, just like it was in the 90s… but those times are sadly long gone.
